Trekking in Nepal
Trekking is the gift of Nepal to the world in adventure tourism. Trekking means to set off from the rest of the world to explore wonder of the trekker's paradise. Walking through the tropical lowlands to alpine meadows and glacial moraines, trekkers will have to confront connecting picturesque hamlets & mountain villages; get indeed an overwhelming experience to come in contact with rural citizens whose lifestyle has not changed in generations in the village and experience their lifestyle, warm traditional hospitality and friendship. Trekking in Nepal is as much a unique cultural experience as well as an ultimate Himalayan adventure.

Trekker has to consider that the Himalayas begin where other mountains finish and trekking is not mountaineering. Generally, trekking consists of in the middle hills region at elevations between 1000 metres to 3000 metres but the trek to Everest base camp will reach 5545 metres. Since trekking is just a day walk tour, you neither any advance training nor have to be athlete. To trek anyone with a pair of strength legs, the sprit for adventure to explore the exotic, good and healthy mentality will enjoy the thrill of trekking the hills of the Himalayan Kingdom.

SOME TREKKING RULES:

Trekking maybe undertaken for only one place or an area at a time and follow the route prescribed by the Department of Immigration.

To trek along routes that are not prescribed may create serious problems regarding security, food and accommodation.

It is advised to arrange treks through the registered trekking agencies to prevent oneself from any unseen accident that may occur at any time during the trekking period.

While trekking it is advisable to take only authorized guide and porter.

Be careful with matches around wooded or grassy areas. Forest and grass fires cause serious damages.

Give preference to lodges and trekking companies that do not use firewood and encourage their efforts to conserve the environment.

Be most economical with all fuel, specially regarding the local firewood. Use minimum fuel for hot showers and discourage camp-fire.

Trekkers are strictly forbidden to cut any green forest resources and to kill any wildlife.

Use washing and toilet facilities provided or if none are available make sure you are at least 30 meters away from any water source. Bury excreta and toilet papers and use biodegradable toiletries. Avoid the use of non-biodegradable items as much as possible.

Do not ignore headache, loss of appetite and sleeplessness. These symptoms can occurre for altitude sickness.

Reduce pollution, leave the campsite cleaner and protect the environment.

Trekking permits are necessary to trek in the national parks located in the mountains
