Tibet-Lhasa Overland Tour

(Drive-In / Fly-Out)
 
Tibet one of those extraordinary destination where indeed adventure lurks around every corner! Adventure on the road is never short on the beautiful Transhimalayan drive, through mountain,passes, promising a panorama of a cultural and scenic diversity unsurpassable anywhere.
 
It culminates on an arid plateau-a veritable treasure trove of architectural master pieces-the monasteries of Drepung, once the largest in the country The Jhokhang-a spiritual center, and the awesome palaces of the Dalai Lama-Norbulinga (the summer palace) and the Potala (the traditional seat)
 
To travel for days on this remote plateau with the chance encounters of nomads herding their sheep or yaks is to be transformed into another way of life. We begin the tour by traveling to Kathmandu and departing by road to the Nepal/Tibet border town of Zhangmu where we collect our Transport. The day to day program is outlined as follows:
 
 
 
Itinerary :
Day 01: Drive, Kathmandu - Zhangmu - Nyalam (3750m) (154kms). Overnight stay in Nyalam Twin-sharing basis in BB plan.
Day 02: Drive, Nyalam - Lhatse (4350m, 370kms). Overnight stay in Lhatse in Twin-sharing basis in BB plan.
Day 03: Drive, Lhatse - Shigatse (3900m, 210kms). Overnight stay in Shigatse in Twin-sharing in BB plan.
Day 04: Drive, Shigatse - Gyatse (3950m, 90kms). Overnight stay in Gyatse in Twin-sharing in BB plan.
Day 05: Drive Gyatse - Lhasa (3650m, 260kms). Overnight stay in Lhasa in Twin-sharing in BB plan.
Day 06:

Lhasa Sightseeing Tour (Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple & Barkhor Market). Overnight stay in Lhasa in Twin-sharing / Single-supplement* basis in BB plan.
Day 07: Lhasa Sightseeing Tour (Drepung, Sera monastery). Overnight stay in Lhasa in Twin-sharing / Single-supplement* basis in BB plan.
Day 08: Transport to Airport (2 hrs drive) for flight to onward destination.

 

 

 

Price for the Trip :

The cost for the trek or tour will depend on several different factors. The type of accommodation you choose in Kathmandu and/or another destination will make a difference to the overall costing (budget to 5 star accommodation). The mode of transportation you prefer is the another factor which affects the cost of your package, for example prices change significantly between flight versus private car/van, tourist/local bus. The number of guides and/or porters required will also affect the total cost of your trek. From above reason the same trek/tour can vary in price quite substantially.
