Birth place of Lord Buddha

Lumbini "the lovely" is a Buddhist pilgrimage site in Nepal, near the Indian border. It is the place where Queen Mayadevi is said to have given birth to Siddhartha Gautama, who as the Buddha Gautama founded the Buddhist tradition. The Buddha lived between roughly 563 and 483 BC.

Lumbini, as of 1997, is an UNESCO World Heritage Site specifically nominated for the international World Heritage program.

The holy site of Lumbini is bordered by a large monastic zone, in which only monasteries can be built, no shops or hotels or restaurants. It is separated into an eastern and western monastic zone, the eastern having the Theravadin, the western having Mahayana & Vajrayana monasteries.
 
The holy site of Lumbini has ruins of ancient monasteries, a sacred Bodhi tree, an ancient bathing pond, the Ashoka pillar and the Mayadevi temple, where the precise place of birth of Buddha is located. From early morning to early evening, pilgrims from various countries perform chanting and meditation at the site.

 

  

Itinerary :

Day 2: Drive, Kathmandu - Bhairahawa / Lumbini. Overnight stay in Hotel in Bhairahawa in Twin-sharing / Single-supplement* basis in BB plan.
Day 3: Lumbini Full-day Sightseeing (Mayadevi Temple, Garden, Monasteries of different countries). Overnight stay in Hotel in Bhairahawa / Lumbini in Twin-sharing / Single-supplement* basis in BB plan.
Day 4: Visit Tilaurakot - Capital of Shakya Kingdom. Overnight stay in Hotel in Lumbini / Bhairahawa in Twin-sharing / Single-supplement* basis in BB plan..
Day 5: Drive back to Kathmandu. Overnight stay in Hotel in Kathmandu in Twin-sharing / Single-supplement* basis in BB plan.
Day 6: Visit Swayambhunath Stupa, Bouddhanath Stupa, Kapan Gompa. Overnight stayi in Kathmandu in Twin-sharing / Single-supplement* basis in BB plan.
Day 7: Airport Drop-off. End of Program.
 

 

 

Price for the Trip :

The cost for the trek or tour will depend on several different factors. The type of accommodation you choose in Kathmandu and/or another destination will make a difference to the overall costing (budget to 5 star accommodation). The mode of transportation you prefer is the another factor which affects the cost of your package, for example prices change significantly between flight versus private car/van, tourist/local bus.
